( Sheriff's Special Operations Team)

S.S.O.T.

The Warrick County Sheriff's Special Operations Team (S.S.O.T.) was organized in 2000. The team is composed of officers who are extensively trained in special weapons and tactics. The S.S.O.T. responds to and handles dangerous situations such as hostage or barricaded gunmen, high risk and narcotic warrants, jail extractions and any situation that has an elevated risk.

Each team member is required to complete an intense tryout program that demands physical strength, firearm accuracy and mental concentration. Team members continue training by participating in monthly tactical exercises. Team members are expected to be available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
