Warrick County Sheriff's Merit Board

Sheriff Heilman is aided in some of the Office administrative duties by a five person civilian board known as the Sheriff's Merit Board. The Board is responsible to assist the Sheriff in the processes of hiring, discipline and promotion of County police officers. The Board also adopts Rules and Regulations and Standard Operating Procedures written by the Sheriff to govern daily operations of the Office. Specific qualifications and responsibilities of the Board are listed under Indiana Code 36-8-10.

The Board holds public meetings at the Sheriff's Office on the first Tuesday of the month at 4:00 p.m. as the Sheriff deems necessary.
